Awareness and Support for Victims of Sexualized Violence and Hostilities at ESC
The ESC should be an event where everyone feels welcome and safe. Despite all preventive measures, incidents of sexualized violence, hostilities, or discrimination may still occur. To address this, Basel-Stadt is planning a unique support service for those affected or witnessing such incidents during a major event – a first of its kind in Switzerland.
Support will be available 24/7, free of charge, and on-site through:
A dedicated 24/7 hotline (will be available soon)
Safer Spaces within the venues
Mobile Awareness Teams patrolling the event
All these services work closely with the police, medical teams, volunteers, private security personnel, and other ESC stakeholders. This initiative is a collaboration between the Office for Violence Protection and Victim Support (JSD) and the Department for Equality and Diversity (PD), with financial support from the federal government.
