Focus on inclusion

It is important to us that everyone can experience the Eurovision Song Contest up close. The Host City are therefore placing a special focus on inclusion during ESC 2025. All areas in the Messe und Congress Center Basel are wheelchair-accessible and barrier-free.

As part of the ESC, the MQ will become an experience and meeting place for everyone: whether barrier-free access and special seating for wheelchair users, inclusive language, gender-neutral toilets, retreats or special offers for neurodivergent, deaf or elderly visitors - we are committed to an event experience that is open to everyone.

Basel-Stadt is also actively promoting a safe, respectful environment at major events with its awareness program. In order to provide the best possible support for those affected by discriminatory acts, a unique service is available throughout Switzerland during the ESC: A free 24/7 hotline will provide those affected with professional support around the clock, safe spaces will be available in the venues and mobile awareness teams will respond on site. They work closely with the police, paramedics, volunteers, private security personnel and other ESC participants.

The Quiet Room in Eurovision Village offers a peaceful retreat for people who are neurodivergent, sensitive to noise or overstimulated. It is open to anyone who needs a moment of peace and quiet. And last but not least, special program items in the Eurovision Village are translated into sign language so that deaf and hard of hearing visitors can also join in the celebrations.

Volunteers on site offer support at all times. If you have any questions about accessibility at the MQ, please contact [email protected].
