Urban Summer Vibes at MQ Basel
On July 3, Bambusnest returns and kicks off its third season in the courtyard of Hall 2. Until mid-September, the urban summer venue at MQ Basel will once again transform into a meeting place for after-work gatherings, networking, events, and relaxed summer evenings in the heart of the city.
Another highlight follows on July 31: the Bambusnest Festival will enter its third edition and once again bring the courtyard to life. With music, an urban summer atmosphere, and festival vibes, MQ Basel will once again become a vibrant meeting point for Basel’s summer and event scene.
With its combination of beach flair, an urban setting, and flexible usage options, Bambusnest has established itself as a permanent fixture of Basel’s summer event calendar in recent years. The venue offers particularly attractive opportunities for corporate events: the in-house indoor event space “Cube” provides additional flexibility for company events, workshops, or client events – including a weather-independent alternative in the event of uncertain weather conditions.
This year, Bambusnest once again focuses on a combination of a relaxed atmosphere, gastronomic offerings, and a diverse event program. As a result, the venue remains an example of how urban open spaces can be temporarily transformed into vibrant meeting places for different target groups. We talked with Ur Porzivil, Co-Founder Bambusnest.
Bambusnest is already entering its third season. How has the venue and concept evolved since its launch?
The Bambusnest is intentionally being developed on a continuous basis. For 2026, this includes a revised planting concept, new spatial layouts for lounge and furniture areas, and a redesigned entrance experience featuring a newly staged waterfall. The focus is on maintaining brand recognition while introducing targeted changes that create fresh impulses and a distinct “wow effect.”
What makes Bambusnest 2026 special – are there any new formats, offerings, or ideas?
The Bambusnest will continue to be positioned as an urban retreat in the city center. At the same time, the range of uses is being expanded: new event formats will create a versatile offering for different target groups. The objective remains to combine a high-quality atmosphere with a broad, flexible event program.
Why do you think the combination of an urban outdoor feeling and an integrated event space works so well for corporate events?
The key strength of the Bambusnest lies in its flexibility and scalability. The location can be efficiently adapted to different event sizes and formats. This multifunctional setup allows it to meet a wide range of corporate requirements—from small networking settings to larger-scale events. Combined with its distinctive atmosphere, it creates clear added value beyond a traditional event venue.
